Garvin Design Group, HNTB, and Thompson Turner Construction joined Clemson University for a special topping-out celebration at the new Watt Family Athletic Performance & Wellness Center on Wednesday, May 29.

Located at the corner of Perimeter Road and Track Drive near Memorial Stadium, the new three-story Performance & Wellness Center is being constructed concurrently with the renovation of the adjacent Jervey Athletic Center. The projects will provide a state-of-the-art new home for the Volleyball program, as well as facilities for 450 student-athletes across campus, including:

  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Wellness & Recovery Space
  • Hydrotherapy & Recovery Pools
  • Sports Medicine Clinic
  • Gatorade Fuel Bar and Sports Nutrition Services
  • Student-Athlete Bistro & Outdoor Dining Terrace

The renovation project at Jervey Athletic Center is raising the roof of Jervey Gym by more than 12 feet and modifying a section of the existing building to include a Volleyball locker room, lounge, team room, and other amenities. Together, the Watt Family Athletic Performance & Wellness Center and the Jervey Athletic Center will form a dynamic and forward-focused complex to keep Clemson at the forefront of collegiate athletics.

“It’s a privilege to continue working with Clemson Athletics on cutting-edge amenities for student-athletes,” said Terry Buchmann, Garvin Design Group Principal.  “We’re proud to continue partnering with national sports design experts HNTB and now with Thompson Turner to deliver ambitious projects that keep Clemson out front nationally.”
