Addition & Renovations

The state’s largest trade organization, the South Carolina Association of Realtors had been headquartered in a 6,800-sf structure since the mid-1980s and was in desperate need of an interior renovation and technological upgrade. A full interior renovation of the existing facility included multiple code, energy, and life-safety upgrades, as well as creation of an open office concept utilizing expansive interior glazing and borrowed light. Along with the renovations, a 3,400-sf addition accommodates new meeting and support spaces, including new accessible restrooms. The 1,200-sf meeting room can be divided for smaller groups and is equipped with state-of-the-art audio/visual systems for presentations, training sessions, and video conferencing. Adjacent to the main room, a glazed lobby area provides informal break-out space and overflow for conference participants and visitors. Terminating the lobby along the street façade, a glazed tower element features an etching of the Realter “R” backlit from within.
