Terry Buchmann AIA, LEED AP
Terry Buchmann has played a key leadership role at Garvin Design Group since he joined the firm in its earliest months. He especially enjoys the process of architectural design and balancing aesthetics and technical detailing in every project. In keeping with Garvin Design Group’s commitment to continuity throughout the design and construction process, Terry’s expertise includes overseeing the construction administration of his design projects.
Terry’s portfolio includes projects of all scales and typologies. His recent higher education projects include the new Soccer Operations Complex, Women’s Sports Program Expansion, and Jervey Performance & Wellness Center projects at Clemson University, Club Space Renovations at the University of South Carolina’s Williams-Brice Stadium, and the Thompson Library and Indoor Practice Facility at Coastal Carolina University. In addition to his work in higher education, Terry has led design teams for a wide range of commercial and religious projects, including the South Carolina Association of Realtors Headquarters, Hope Lutheran Church in Irmo, rehabilitation of Granby Mill, and multiple offices for Coldwell Banker.
Outside the studio, Terry enjoys traveling with his family, singing in his church choir, and supporting his favorite sports teams. He is currently in his second term as a Trustee of the Clemson Architectural Foundation and a long-time member of the Columbia Chamber’s Leadership Columbia Alumni Association.
